Puerto Nuevo House on Lake Ranco

This wooden house in the south of Chile responds to a privileged natural environment, between a green plateau and a forest of coihues that descends to Lake Ranco.

The 147-square-meter residence is organized on a rectangular floor positioned parallel to the edges of the site, maximizing vistas and engagement with the landscape. The interior spaces are arranged linearly, minimizing circulation elements and guaranteeing direct views of the forest and the lake from every room. The geometry of the building is altered by triangular spaces at the edges of the floor plan, forming a trapezoidal volume that distorts the regularity of the design.

The construction is executed mainly with timber, reinforcing its connection with nature. Metal tubes serve as supports on the foundations at certain points, reducing interventions on the ground, while the pitched roof is covered with metal sheets, which contribute to durability.
