OCHO house, Los Vilos

Pezo von Ellrichshausen

Creative nature is a cruel nature,” Nietzsche would say. After some years, the dubious original circumstances for this project have been exceeded by another prospect. Perhaps the very formality of a raw proposal, at the epicenter of an egoist battlefield, was anticipating our principles: to have a humble presence, as opaque and discreet as possible, almost hidden by the dunes, containing the largest possible volume of air within the given boundaries, somehow indifferent to the juggling and expansive neighbors. The regularity of a narrow ring of rooms allows for an informal, introverted, hedonist life. The capricious transformation of four lonely columns, as props for a heavy tent, suggests the released and peaceful disposition for a fleeting destination place.
