One of the main premises behind the proposal of the Danish team formed by the architectural offices of Schønherr and BIG and the engineering firm Ramboll is the need to develop infrastructures for sustainable transportation. Not only are the residents of the city of Aalborg being encouraged to commute on foot or by bicycle through the provision of new pedestrian paths and bike lanes; there are also plans to establish electrical vehicles as the norm and to build a whole network of recharge stations.
