A joint work of the architects Jaume Bach, Anna Bach, Eugeni Bach, Xevi Bayona, and Alba Colomer, with the collaboration, too, of the civil engineer Lluís Pauné, this urban intervention emphasizes the geometry of boundaries between what are known as 'El Firal' (Passeig de l'Escultor Miquel Blay) and 'El Firalet' (Passeig Bisbe Guillamet), two highly representative boulevards of Olot, in Girona province.

The gaps between these two tree-lined avenues were dealt with through a simple topographic movement that has created a whole new square for the city. The resulting flexibility and versatility of the space makes it possible to hold different outdoor events amid children's playground equipment, doing without architectural barriers. Besides limiting vehicular traffic on both streets, the project has sought to homogenize the whole area with the help of the pavement, urban furniture, and other elements, replacing the diversity of improvised solutions that had been carried out over the past decades.
