The project brings together two seemingly incompatible spatial conditions: an insular, formal-ly specific sports infrastructure and a permeable, open public space. A translucid and flexible membrane covers this double-use space.
Aside from sports venue, the velodrome is also a large public space. When there are no com-petitions the facades can open up, and extend the Las Ruedas Park. The lightweight roof blurs the building’s perimeter, thus allowing its expansion...[+][+][+]
