Not far from the chimney chutes that embody the industrial memory of Sant Adrià de Besós, the offices of a technology firm – and also the residence of its founder – have settled in what was once a printing company within a block set between party walls. As it was impossible to make openings for better lighting, the very deep space is essentially open-plan, and only some spaces are packed together in a band that separates the work zone from the domestic area, but is thought out to serve both in equal parts, in accordance with needs. The framework uses an L-profile shelf system, with tray rails and plywood enclosures that address the limited budget as well as comply with the factory character of the place, which is nuanced only by some fixed furniture pieces made of white concrete.
