Jingyang Camphor Court hotel in Jingdezhen

Vector Architects

In the heart of the city of Jingdezhen, known for its porcelain production, stands this hotel designed with the idea of preserving the constructions of an old industrial complex, including the existing camphor trees. The entire program is organized around two courtyards. In the main one, a wooden cloister embraces lush camphor plots.

The distances between the walls of the various buildings are very short, evoking vernacular architectural tradition. The bricks of the original volumes present reddish and orangey towns, determining the warm color palette of the new materials.
