In 2017, BIG won the competition to remodel the historical San Pellegrino complex in the Italian Alps. The development plan includes a visitor center, work areas, offices, and a bridge over Brembo River. Besides giving new life to the company’s image, the project seeks to link the industrial facilities to the San Pellegrino Terme and make it an iconic gateway to the village. Hence, close to the deposits is an elevated piazza – the symbolic heart of the intervention – where a huge sculpture will be raised, formed by various layers of natural rock representing the stages of the journey that water travels from the mountain’s snowy summit to the spring at its foot.
