In southern Chile's Malleco Province, specifically in the commune named Los Sauces, stands this building that is part of the education ministry's drive to build eight small schools in Araucanía Region, where a high percentage of the population is Mapuche.

The 417-square-meter facility is thought out to accommodate educational and social activities of the community at large. The lines between the thermoregulating central space and the classrooms are blurred by means of sliding doors, ensuring use flexibility and cross ventilation. The construction is a contemporary reinterpretation of old sheds in the area, using metal claddings, timber structures, and local volcanic stone.
