On a steep hillside overlooking the fertile Maipo River Valley, the Chilean firm MAPAA – Cristián Larraín and Matías Madsen – has for a family enterprise completed small offices within three bays raised on supports over the slope and covered with barrel vaults executed in exposed concrete, drawing inspiration from traditional underground wineries in the area. Two work spaces – for father and son – function independently but are connected by a central zone to be used for meetings – featuring an Italian tapestry 3.6 meters high and 6 meters long – and a terrace affording sweeping views of the valley with its vineyards and olive groves.
