Shanshui Garden in Yibin

Mix Architecture

In Anshi Village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the prefecture-level city of Yibin, this pavilion has an inner courtyard that forms a shape resembling a windmill in motion. Combining elements of local architectural tradition with current construction requirements, it is embedded in the natural landscape to harbor a variety of spaces: tea rooms, a library, and meeting rooms. Large-eaved roofs stretch toward the pond. The resulting composition of sandstone blocks and hanging wooden slats of different sizes seeks to strike a balance between simplicity and refinement.
