Located in the heart of the old quarter of the Belgian city, the Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre presents a facade of brick columns in the reddish brown that is part of the Belgian city’s palette of colors. The building rests on a glass plinth that invites people into the multipurpose exhibition hall (4,500 square meters), which also serves as a covered public square. The entrance is protected by an overhang. The trade fair and conference areas can be used separately and simultaneously. While the exhibition venue is organized horizontally, the convention hall, seating 500, has a vertical arrangement. Besides the new construction, the project included a re-design of the space around it, respecting the existing trees.
