The new library is the most distinctive part of the French Lycée expansion project, the outcome of an international competition held in 2018. The main objective was an orderly, unified complex, as well as economy of means in terms of form, materials, and construction systems.
It is a 34x15x12m box made of exposed concrete on the outside, completely white and full of light on the inside. The north façade is entirely executed with glass, from top to bottom and extending around the corners, in one of which the roof is also glazed, creating a trihedron of light.
The double-height reading room opens onto the other spaces that serve it, through a series of strategically placed openings, resulting in a veritable boîte à lumière.
