Three-court house in Alibag

In Alibag, a coastal town in the Indian state of Maharashtra, stands this house fragmeted into three modules, a work of the Mumbai firm RMA Architects of Rahul Mehrotra. Organized around an exterior courtyard, these modules work autonomously but are connected, both physically and visually, by glass enclosures and wooden walkways. The premises include a clinic and accommodations for its staff, and are ordered with a privacy gradient. Using local materials like basalt stone, the design presents a composition that plays with the position and size of the openings on the facades.
