The Glass Farm is MVRDV’s seventh proposal to reuse the market square site of Schijndel, a Dutch town located 25 kilometers from Eindhoven and which suffered bombings during World War II. The new building, covered entirely with a glass facade, will have an area of 1,600 square meters containing offices, restaurants, shops and a wellness center.
The Rotterdam architectural studio, with the special involvement of one of its founders, Winy Maas – born in Schijndel – has collaborated in this project with the Dutch artist Frank van der Salm, who took numerous photographs to create a prototype of the traditional farm in the Schijndel area.
