After its successful run at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the traveling exhibition 'Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams' moves to the Museum of Contemporary Art of Tokyo. On view through 28 May, it is organized by a scenographic narrative designed by Shohei Shigematsu, an OMA partner, and highlights the ties that have linked Dior to Japanese culture throughout the 76 years of the fashion house's existence. The extensive retrospective takes up fifteen rooms on two floors. In the midst of all is 'The Dior Ball,' a large pyramid-shaped staircase that takes inspiration from traditional Japanese shrines, amplified here by a ceiling of mirrors reflecting the structure. On the other side a curving wall shows 359 color-coded Dior items.
