It fell upon the Italian firm headed by Christian Gasparini, Nat Office, to build a studio-atelier for the sculptor Michealangeli Galliani next to his house in Montecchio Emilia, a municipality in northern Italy. The wooden volume stretches on up to the large roofless porch, giving rise to open-air work areas. Th estructure, simplified to the limit, is based on the repetition of closely spaced portals. They give the large double-height shed a sense of rhythm and partition. Regulated by a system of curtains, daylight shapes and fills the interior space.
