Eovastudio

A work of the Seville firm Eovastudio, headed by Juan José Baena, Marta Gómez, and Joanna Jedris, this construction is located in an industrial park of Huelva, on the right bank of the mouth of the Tinto River, on a plain beside the marshes of the Nicoba.

A single volume accommodates the entire program required by the Swedish manufacturer of heavy trucks, buses, and Diesel engines, a property of the Volkswagen Group. The functional container serves as advertising. On one hand is a large diaphanous, horizontal, toplit space used for tuning vehicles. On the other is the showroom, sales, and offices zone of several floors where daylight enters, capitalizing on the slope of the site. The building’s height varies from the 10 meters of the rear zones to the nearly 20 of the main west corner. Covered with a dry-joint metal cladding, a hybrid scheme rigidifies the structure by means of a system of beams and tautened pillars.
