The proposal of the Navarrese practice of Francisco Mangado, drawn up in collaboration with the Belgian firm archipelago baev, has won first prize in the competition for the new Exhibition and Convention Center of Liège, a city on the Meuse River, in Belgium’s French-speaking Wallonia region.

The design of the new public complex also seizes the opportunity to transform the immediate urban surroundings. In the architects’ words: “what we have here is not just another building, but one of those opportunities that cities and their inhabitants undertake every now and then, thereby shaping urban history.”
