SAM architecture

With room for 360 children, the school complex built by Paris-based SAM Architecture is located in a neighborhood designed for railway workers in the 1970s, in the Epine district south of Hellemmes. It is also to serve as a public facility, with functions for community activities. The two-story construction engages in dialogue with the surroundings through a brick facade facing the street, ensuring privacy for the classrooms. Designed with flexible and energy-efficient spaces, the building opens out to an inner courtyard with large windows and wooden frames.
