The Lebanese firm of Paul Kaloustian has designed new facilities for COAF (Children of Armenia Fund) in the northern Armenian province of Lori. The complex adapts to the slope of the terrain by snaking its way in the landscape with a respectful contemporary architectural language that includes green roofs and buried zones. The sinuous one-level building branches out with long glazed facades that flood the interior spaces with natural light. Combining educational and social programs with technological resources, adapted to the needs of rural communities, the center includes classrooms, an auditorium, a library, multipurpose spaces, and accommodations for visitors.
