Presented in 2006 with the Young Architects Forum Award from the Architectural League, MAD – MA Design – is a Beijing-based atelier directed by three young architects: Yosune Hayano, Qun Dang and Yansong Ma, who founded the office in 2002. The team, which in 2007 opened a new office in Tokyo, bases its production on a sophisticated design philosophy aided by the new computer technologies.

The Hong Luo Club House sits amid the rich natural environment of a popular residential area in north Beijing’s Miyun district. A waving roof placed 3.5 meters above the access level covers the whole program, organizing the different gathering spaces of the club house in a linear sequence.
