The building was positioned on a corner to encompass its garden from its terraces, and to be seen from the road as an access ramp. From the village, however, the building appears as an open room behind a high wall. Three platforms suspended in a fan-shaped pattern over a dihedral of concrete walls form the trapezoidal spaces for recreation, sports, and games. But the structure, articulated in horizontal and vertical slabs, its steel and concrete construction, and the building's discontinuity in openings and skylights make this small center a complex and surprising exercise in freedom and also in willpower, in optimistic willpower...[+]
