Paseo Encantado House in Tesuque (New Mexico)

Carlos Jiménez

Located in Tesuque Village, a few kilometers north of downtown Santa Fe, this house has splendid views of the Sangre de Cristo Range. Temperaturas vary from one extreme to another in this place, with summers as hot and dry as the winters are chilly and sunny.

The 160-square-meter one-story house is oriented longitudinally on an east-to-west axis, almost parallel to the mountains. It is embedded in the sandy terrain to minimize its vertical presence while emphasizing the horizontal choreography of the design’s three modules: main house, guest area, and carport.
