EÑE House in Madrid
Estudio Albar

As per Passivhaus standards for maximizing energy efficiency, in consumption terms this residence qualifies for the NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) certificate, impacting very little on the environment. It has a fully industrialized timber structure and a cork facade. The 40-meter-long, 6-meter-wide rectangular volume presents large square openings on the main facades, while the minor facades are opaque. With its built area of 250 square meters, it accommodates the domestic program through a simple scheme where the perimeter is freed of partitions and fixed elements. A small pavilion containing a studio crowns the building.
