The Vigo practice of Jordi Castro and María G. Ferro was commissioned for this dwelling with views over the estuary of Pontevedra, in the Galician municipality of Bueu. The site was chosen by the client, who wanted a place in which to retire, a house addressing the occupant¡s mature years.

Providing protection against strong winds, concrete walls define the compact construction, serving as side facades and as internal dividers forming the three spaces required: a bedroom, a living room, and small office in which to write while enjoying the sight of the sea.

The same strategy for resolving the project through the structure marks the other two facades: the one where the entrance is, which blocks views of the interior through white surfaces between walls; and the one facing the sea, where windows are set between the concrete walls. A slight slope of the roof – visible only from inside – generates an entrance veranda.
