Town Hall of Unterschneidheim

Kauffmann Theilig & Partner

The new Town Hall building of Unterschneidheim, a municipality in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, is split into two offset blocks, forming spaces in between for lingering and holding outdoor events.

The symmetrical gable roofs and attic forms establish a rapport with the adjacent buildings to the south. The area where the two elongated structures overlap is where the entrance and the foyer are placed.

The complex is organized in two levels that allow an efficient layout of the space on plan, and the flexibility needed to address future needs. A Citizen’s Hall upstairs gives views of Mount Ipf and Baldern Castle.
