The Paraguayan firm EST arquitectura, led by Carlos A. Jiménez, built this slender residential tower which rises 140 meters and 37 floors and whose large red planes have become a landmark in the city of Asunción. The prism takes on a lighter image thanks to corners freed up by balconies. The vertical planes that define the morphology of the skyscraper are structural too, being very thick screens of reinforced concrete. Open to the interpretations of the proprietors and the architects involved, the flexible design is resolved through an open plan where the services of the residential parts are decentralized, benefiting from views of the city, the river, and the green horizon that is a trait of Paraguay’s capital.
