The Groningen office of the firm De Zwarte Hond was commissioned to design a central building that would serve as a social space for Meerstad, an up-and-coming developing residential zone that falls under the jurisdiction of the northern Dutch city. SuperHub, as it is called, is a symbiosis between a traditional marketplace and a shopping center of today, featuring a trendy café. The structure is a wooden frame crowned with a large overhanging roof that makes for a 9-meter ceiling height. The building is designed to be adaptable to the community's changing needs.
