As a complement to the activities of this well-known winery in the municipality of Bardolino, the Guerrieri Rizzardi family commissioned a project to add a small guest house for overnight visitors, along with a space for winetasting.

The chosen site for this initiative is in an olive grove with splendid views of sunsets over Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy and one of the most popular tourist destinations north of the country. Taking advantage of the slight slope of the site towards the lake, a single elongated volume – a podium – is inserted into the terrain in line with the existing terracing and the grid that orders the planting of the olive trees. The solid podium of reinforced concrete defines a new relationship between house, olive grove, and lake. The slab of the podium is mirrored by a large roof slab supported only by triangular concrete pillars. In between the concrete slabs, two simple glazed volumes open up fully onto the surrounding landscape.
