Aichi Sangyo University commissioned Studio Velocity to design new facilities on its campus in Okazaki – a city in Aichi Prefecture – that would include rest areas, a cafeteria, laboratories, and a bus shelter. The plot was larger than necessary for the program, but the Japanese studio opted to fill it with a highly permeable, low-density, one-level steel structure. The result relates well with the environment and blurs the lines between interior and exterior on a hill with a 4-meter drop.
