Forest House in Costa Esmeralda

A conifer forest in Costa Esmeralda, in the Argentinian province of Buenos Aires, is the location of this building of fluid, organic shapes, organized in partly buried, single-level pavilions and crowned with green roofs. They adapt to and take advantage of the uneven topography, knitting the architecture and the landscape together. The materials used – such as stone, wood, iron, and glass, which require minimal maintenance – contribute to the rapport with the natural environment. To optimize cross ventilation and daylight in all the rooms, the project carefully considered wind patterns and positions in relation to the sun.
