The Catalonian firm vora, headed by Pere Buil and Toni Riba, revamped this 1924 building containing five dwellings, set between party walls on Vallirana 47, in Barcelona's Farró neighborhood. The strategy was to restore preexisting elements (hydraulic mosaic pavements, plaster moldings, frames...) and transform the complex combining old and new (enamelled tiles, graphic patterns taken from the building's railings, wallpaper...), all the while respecting the original identity of the 490-square-meter construction. A new spatial arrangement is superposed on the existing traditional layout, which consisted of a conventional corridor and small rooms. Original floors and ceilings are maintained, and partitions slide over them to show temporary layers.
