Llacuna Building
The jury of 2022 FAD Awards – Francesc Rifé (chair), Xavier Delgado, Carme Fiol, Uriel Fogué, Patrícia Santos Pedrosa, and Jelena Prokopljević – gave the award in the Architecture category to the Llacuna residential building in Poblenou (Barcelona), by Arquitectura-G. In words of the jury, the collective housing project “sketches the city in a silent and simple way” and “finds an excellent solution for the challenging corner plot.” The shortlisted projects in other categories were the Garage in Madrid by NOMOS, in Interior Design; the Plaza del Carmen in Olot, by unparelld’arquitectes, and the Library and Archive in Grândola (Portugal), by Matos Gameiro + Pedro Domingos, in City and Landscape; and Agrilogística in Barcelona, by GOIG, in the Ephemeral Interventions section. The International FAD Award went ex aequo to the New Munch Museum in Oslo, by estudioHerreros, and Air/Aira/Aire at the Venice Biennale, by Olga Subirós. In the Thought and Criticism category the prize was shared by El Escorial: imperio y estómago, by David Bestué, and Capital de provincia, by Carlos Romero Rey.
