The Sorigué Foundation in Lérida presents the first solo exhibition in Spain on Mat Collishaw (Nottingham, 1966), on view through 24 May in the Villanueva Pavilion of Madrid’s Royal Botanical Garden.
The exhibition focuses on two key themes of the oeuvre of the British artist: nature and art history. Several rooms where darkness predominates host a careful selection of 35 works – sculptures, photographs, films, paintings, and large installations – carried out in the past twenty years. In enveloping them in his particular world, Collishaw seeks to both captivate and repel visitors.
The Sorigué Foundation is offering 1,600 free entrance tickets through its website, with a guided tour included, and has designed an educational program and different activities revolving around the show.
