The author of the ‘four wells and a pond’ built around the Botín Centre building by the water in Santander, Cristina Iglesias – the winner of Spain’s National Visual Arts Award in 1999 – has been invited by the foundation of the Cantabrian banking institution to present her oeuvre of the past twenty-five years in an exhibition titled ‘Interspaces,’ curated by Vicente Todoli. The show will feature twenty-three pieces, from Iglesias’s powerful three-dimensional lattices to her most recent works of a more picturesque character, all of them illustrating that very unique and personal fusion of sculpture with architecture and other disciplines that defines the language of this artist from the Basque city of San Sebastián.
