AV Proyectos 116: Boltshauser Architekten

01/04/2023

AV Proyectos 116 dedicates its dossier to Boltshauser Architekten, founded and directed by Roger Boltshauser. The Swiss firm experiments with geometry and materials to reach a poetic balance between tradition and modernity. This section is followed by the competition for the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, won by the studio of the latest Pritzker laureate, David Chipperfield, whose proposal is presented along with several of the shortlisted projects. The issue also showcases the creativity of emerging studios in Madrid presenting seven temporary installations, from pavilions for trade fairs to exhibition proposals to stage designs. The usual ‘Detail’ section covers the construction process of the Science Gateway building designed by Renzo Piano’s RPBW for the CERN in Geneva. To close, Jérémie Lenoir explores concepts such as ‘third landscape’ or ‘non-place’ through photographs that allow him to observe these phenomena under an abstract perspective.
