The Mexico City practice of Héctor Barroso built this four-house complex designed as ‘silent architecture’ where plants take center stage, the idea being to let nature act and to engage with it directly. The constructions are carefully integrated into the challenging hillside location, their impact on the terrain minimized. Each dwelling faces a central courtyard, a place for reflection which also serves as a transitional element between the communal zones opening out to the exterior and the private spaces arranged inside solid volumes.
