The high-rise proposed by ODA, the New York practice of Eran Chen, incorporates a sculptural void with irregular openings giving views of the sea, mountains, and the city of Seattle. Designed for the real estate firm Crescent Heights, the 361-meter-tall mixed-use building contains 1,080 residential units on the higher floors, above offices and retail. Exploring new forms of social interaction among occupants of a skyscraper, the scheme presents a stepped cavity decked with furniture and plants, in the manner of a hanging garden.
