According to the jury of the competition for the new Bauhaus Museum in Weimar, the design drawn up by Heike Hanada in collaboration with Benedict Tonon was selected as the winner on account of the constructive quality of the enclosure formed by strips of glass that wrap the building and create an irregular horizontal rhythm interspersed with fine sharp profiles of dark metal. This facade rises on a stone plinth that compresses the entire project, a compactness that, by incorporating a geothermal pump and solar collectors, is capitalized on to optimize the use of energy resources.
