‘Connective Nature by Finsa’

Izaskun Chinchilla

On view in the context of Fuorisalone 2022 in Milan, as part of the Tortona Rocks project, is an exhibition developed by Izaskun Chinchilla for Finsa, a company devoted to wood-based construction solutions, where different interactive installations invite the visitor to reflect on people’s place in society. The intention is to demonstrate nature’s capacity to reconnect us to ourselves. Wood and the stimulation of our sensory organs are the guiding thread through eight stops: 1) a chair with a nest-shaped back on which to listen to birdsong; 2) a small pond with tangram-inspired geometric shapes in which to create something beautiful; 3) a swing on which to balance your body with your eyes closed; 4) a spot for sharing a secret; 5) a bed of herbs on which to lie down; 6) an installation with colorful seats for reciting a haiku, a very nature-evoking poem, to the person seated in front of you; 7) a sofa made of inflatable pieces that yield unevenly with the weight of each of your body parts; 8) a round table at which visitors can share a pleasant memory.
