A work of the Design Institute of Landscape and Architecture China Academy of Art, these constructions are part of the Fuchin New Century Wonderland hotel complex in Jiande, a county-level city under the administration of Hangzhou, in Zheziang Province, East China. The Fuchun River feeds a small lake on which five wooden volumes seem to float, looking like traditional fishing boats. Taking from vernacular architecture and each measuring 50 square meters, the five rooms are held up by steel-pipe piles. Their structures are built with prefabricated timber elements assembled on site. Glass fronts face the lake and give out onto balconies over it.
