The bold presence of this work by OLI architecture, which at first glance looks like a warehouse in the middle of private property in New York state – clad in a charred accoya timber rainscreen meant to naturally patina over time – evokes the Serra sculpture it houses within, and its seemingly arbitrary position is a result of close observation of the sun’s movement, in compliance with the artist’s request that natural light bathe the interior without directly shining on the art piece.
