Launched by the Germans Anna Heringer and Andres Lepik, the Laufen Manifesto promotes a general paradigm shift regarding the role of architecture in our society, asserting the power of design as a tool that can significantly improve the living conditions of people, and proposing a series of alternative strategies to enhance the ecological, social and aesthetic quality of the built environment. The manifesto speaks through the voices of professionals and teachers around the world whose work is related to the design fields, aware of the responsibility they all share: that of contributing to the quest for equality and to the construction of a more just society.
