The exhibition ‘Anna Heringer: Essential Beauty’ opens

10/02/2022

On view through 8 May 2022 at the Museo ICO in Madrid is a retrospective show on Anna Heringer (Rosenbeim, Germany, 1977), the first to be seen in Spain. Curated by Luis Fernández-Galiano, it leads the visitor through the work and philosophy of this advocate of sustainable development, who uses local materials and techniques to raise buildings designed with full consideration of the places they are located in. The projects are presented on textiles made by Bangladeshi women, with floor plans and elevations of her buildings reproduced in tapestries. The exhibition features a spot where some of these woven products can be purchased thanks to the support of Dipdii Textiles, and offers guided visits and workshops.

The catalogue, edited by Arquitectura Viva in collaboration with the Fundación ICO, collates the principal works and projects undertaken by the German architect.
