The architect Josep Quetglas, the usual disseminator and critic of Catalan architecture, skillful manipulator of contradictions, wrote this in the foreword to a book by Josep M. Sostres: “Josep M. Sostres has been the most profound and therefore the least influential critic and architect of the last decades of Catalan architecture.” A sentence loaded with diverse suggestions centered on two affirmations: the depth of the critical thinking of Sostres, and its being misunderstood by the cultural circles close to him. That is, a eulogy of the work and the thought of Sostres, and at the same time a denouncement of the low quality of his professional milieu, which did not know what to make of them...
