Among Spain’s young practices right now, Barozzi Veiga is one of those most present in the international spotlight, and it has just wrapped up a music school in Brunico, a town in Italy’s South Tyrol region. Respect for the urban fabric, with its concatenation of historical villas, has given rise to a project defined by two interventions: on the one hand the renovation of the preexisting building, Casa Ragen, with its translucent new roof that characterizes and transforms the space through a system of glass and adjustable slats ; on the other hand the expansion of the program by means of a discreet and immaculate white single-level pavilion, which takes the form of a cloister arranged around a pleasant inner garden.
