Located in the heart of Düsseldorf, this mixed-use development commissioned to the firm Snøhetta presents two towers containing offices, apartments, and a hotel, and includes a new opera house for the city. Named Duett Düsseldorf, the new cultural space beside the historic Hofgarten park will have a 16-meter-tall facade of transparent glass showing a foyer delimited behind by a sculptural wooden core that incorporates stairs. These lead to a café on the first of the three floors contained within a horizontal cantilevering volume crowned with a roof garden. From the café, visitors can see into the rehearsal spaces.
