The Portuguese firm OODA has won the international competition to build the new headquarters of the Albanian television network Klan TV in Tirana. Carried out in collaboration with the local office Artech, the winning scheme draws inspiration from vernacular art and architectural features and the picture of stacked film reels.

The building’s eight floors are slid off-center in different directions, resulting in a dynamic facade and balconies offering impressive views. Inside, natural light crosses all the floors. The surface of structural U-Glass provides both transparency and opacity in a play of lights and shadows. The construction system applied, called ‘bubble slab’ technique, allows for fewer pillars and more flexible workspaces.
