Located at the intersection of Rue de Lubeck and Rue de Boissière in Paris, this project creates a new campus for the French branch of the Instituto Maragoni. For this purpose, the firm Clément Blanchet undertook the renovation of a historic 19th-century building with an elongated floor plan, transforming it to accommodate classrooms, auditoriums, meeting rooms, and offices.
To adapt to local codes and the urban fabric of Paris, the design for this training center presents a U shape around a courtyard that allows a dialogue between old and new buildings. The exterior staircase, suspended over the garden, acts as a unifying element between the access-giving walkways to the various levels. The fragmented roof incorporates vegetation, accessible terraces, and slopes that make the overall composition dynamic.
The facade is clad with corrugated steel panels, each with a unique undulation, and their gray-toned variations contribute to the visual movement. Full-height glass panels with metal frames and mullions, will maximize natural light and ensure ventilation.
